I’ve decided that I’m taking the opportunity this semester to push myself out of my photographic comfort zone as much as possible this year. After working with a newspaper for most of 2012, I got very comfortable with a 24-70 and a 70-200 for everything I shot.

This time I tried to shoot with an 85 and a tilt-shift. I’ve never worked with a tilt-shift, but have always wanted to figure it out. It didn’t work out for everything, but it was fun to mess with.

Also, props to the College Heights Herald for giving excellent photo play. There was a six-column photo on the front with a full photo page of everyone’s rodeo work; as well as a doubletruck of Brittany Sowacke’s work from Peru.
